Boeing Co. said a private customer canceled an order for one 747-8 jumbo jet, a day after the Chicago plane maker delayed the new program for the second time in six months.
The canceled order, valued at $301 million at list price, was from “an unidentified VIP customer,” Boeing said.
As of the end of March, the company had orders for 78 of the freighter version, due to be delivered to the first customer in the third quarter of 2010, and for 28 of the passenger model.
