at No. 5 Florida 26, Miami 3: Tim Tebow threw two touchdown passes for the Gators (2-0), who ended a six-game losing streak against the Hurricanes with their first win in the on-again, off-again series since 1985.
at No. 13 Alabama 20, Tulane 6: Javier Arenas returned a punt 87 yards for a touchdown at Tuscaloosa as the Crimson Tide (2-0) posted a shaky win over the Green Wave, which had been forced out of New Orleans a week ago by the threat of Hurricane Gustav.
at No. 2 Georgia 56, Central Michigan 17: Knowshon Moreno rushed for 168 yards and tied a career high with three touchdowns at Athens as the Bulldogs (2-0) responded well after being bounced from the No. 1 ranking.
at No. 9 Auburn 27, Southern Mississippi 13: Chris Todd completed 21 of 31 passes for 248 yards in his first start, giving the Tigers’ new spread-offense passing game a needed lift at Auburn, Ala.
at Arkansas 28, Louisiana-Monroe 27: Casey Dick threw an eight-yard touchdown pass to D.J. Williams with 1:22 remaining and Louisiana-Monroe’s Jeremy Gener missed a 45-yard field goal, enabling the Razorbacks (2-0) to avoid an upset at Little Rock.
at Mississippi State 34, Southeastern Louisiana 10: Wesley Carroll threw for two touchdowns and Anthony Dixon ran for two to lead the Bulldogs (1-1) at Starkville.
at Kentucky 38, Norfolk State 3: Freshman Randall Cobb threw for a touchdown and ran for two scores as the Wildcats (2-0) won at Lexington.
