Re “School rejects aid by Riordan,” Oct. 15
L.A. Unified school board member Marguerite Poindexter LaMotte took offense at the effort by former Mayor Richard Riordan to assemble extensive talent and generous funding to work with students, parents and teachers to overhaul chronically-underperforming Dorsey High School, claiming that it was “personal political retaliation” by her old political foe.
LaMotte is apparently operating under the delusion that everything is about her. She demonstrates the central problem with the LAUSD: a focus on maintaining personal power.
What about the children entrusted to her care? Shame on her.
