Feeling groovy

In the sea of charity thrift shops in L.A.’s Little Ethiopia, 45 Three Modern Vintage Home is a breezy new arrival. “I’m a chair and hanging-lamp fanatic,” says owner Staci Cain, a former marketer for PepsiCo and Warner Bros. Home Video. “It’s a real risk just opening up a shop, but I have a good eye, so is that so wrong?” Cain has an affinity for 1960s Italian ceramic animals, and her hip spin on reupholstered furniture includes a Victorian-era folding chair covered in a Pucci-flavored African print ($580). A pair of wicker chairs ($1,200) have been done up in vintage fabric that she’d been hanging onto for more than a decade. The results are cool and contemporary, or as Cain puts it, “Granny on psychedelics.” 1051 1/2 S. Fairfax Ave.; (323) 932-0832.
