Is it any wonder that Tim Tebow remains popular among his teammates even after last year becoming the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy?
Angered when Florida State fans in Tallahassee cheered after Percy Harvin, Florida’s top receiver, was injured, Tebow delivered this request to Coach Urban Meyer: “I told the coach to give me the ball because I really wanted to hit somebody.â€
Meyer obliged and, two plays after Harvin’s injury, Tebow carried several defenders into the end zone from four yards out.
“When a guy gets hurt, you cheer?†Tebow said. “There’s never anything right about that.â€
