Authorities are investigating the shooting deaths of two people in Los Angeles County in separate incidents.
The most recent occurred Thursday about 9:30 p.m. when a Pomona man was found in the 1100 block of North Hamilton Boulevard with gunshot wounds to his upper body, said Sgt. Matt Stone of the Pomona Police Department.
Carlos Foreman, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Winter said the gunman knocked on the door of the home and shot Foreman several times.
The first shooting occurred about 1:20 p.m. Thursday in Compton, where detectives in the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department found a man shot in his residence in the 1600 block of Caldwell Street after neighbors called 911, said Lt. Dave Coleman.
Neighbors heard gunshots in the area and ran over to find Refugio Navarro, 22, lying on the floor of his converted garage, Coleman said. Navarro was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives have no motive or leads, Coleman said.
