Update -- Forward Tim Thomas, injured late in the first quarter of Friday night’s loss to Houston, has a sprained left ankle. His availability is doubtful, team officials said. Clippers Coach Mike Dunleavy thought Thomas would be out more than a week. These things have a way of lingering with Thomas. He suffered a strained groin in the preseason opener and didn’t return until the regular-season opener. He was limited to 63 games last season in an injury-plagued campaign. For the Mavericks, Josh Howard aggravated an injured left wrist in Friday’s loss to the Nuggets and did not practice on Saturday.
