Police in Santa Barbara used a stun gun to subdue a naked man inside a home where he was allegedly holding two people at knifepoint.
Phillip Kenneth Matovich is in jail, where he has been booked for investigation of attempted murder, burglary, kidnapping, hostage-taking, false imprisonment, making terrorist threats and brandishing a knife.
Police say the 26-year-old man broke into two homes. Sgt. Lorenzo Duarte says Matovich was arrested Saturday night inside the second home, where he was holding a woman and her boyfriend hostage.
Investigators say Matovich had previously broken into an apartment and struggled with a couple before fleeing.
