Marine dies in freeway collision

A Marine stationed at Twentynine Palms died Saturday in a motorcycle accident on the 10 Freeway near Mountain Avenue, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.
The Marine, 22, was attempting to pass between two vehicles when he collided with one of them and lost control of his motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:53 am.
Authorities are not releasing his name until relatives can be notified.
