Obama passport file is breached

From the Chicago Tribune

Three State Department contract employees improperly looked at Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s private passport files, the State Department told Obama’s Senate office Thursday.

A department spokesman said two employees were fired and one disciplined for accessing the files on three separate occasions this year, on Jan. 9, Feb. 21 and March 14.

The incident stirred memories of a scandal in the 1992 presidential campaign when pages were removed from the passport files of Bill Clinton, who at the time was running against President George H.W. Bush.

An Obama campaign spokesman demanded a “complete investigation,” including the identities of the people who looked at the files and their possible motives.

A State Department spokesman declined to identify the employees involved.
