Mayor picks USC official as advisor
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on Tuesday named a longtime USC administrator and Korean American leader as a senior advisor.
Kay Kyung-Sook Song, associate vice president of USC’s civic and community relations program, will help the mayor reach out to the Korean American community as well as enhance the city’s work with the university.
Song is an author and newspaper columnist, and was the chairwoman of the Korean Institute of Southern California, the nation’s largest Korean American organization.
She will spend her sabbatical year at USC to work for the mayor.
