Cleveland 90, at San Antonio 88: LeBron James scored 27 points and the Cavaliers won their first meeting with the Spurs since being swept in last year’s NBA Finals. Spurs guard Tony Parker missed two free throws that could have tied the score at 90-90 with 29.4 seconds left.
at Denver 120, Utah 109: Linas Kleiza scored a career-high 41 points and Marcus Camby had 24 rebounds and 11 blocked shots in ending the Jazz’s four-game winning streak.
Phoenix 106, at Lakers 98: The Lakers ended their seven-game winning streak and stay atop the conference.
New York Knicks guard Stephon Marbury will have surgery Tuesday on his left ankle and is sidelined indefinitely. Marbury, averaging a career-low 13.9 points, decided to have surgery after an MRI exam confirmed a bone spur. . . . The Seattle SuperSonics asked a federal judge to order a quick start to mediation, as well as a March trial date, in their legal fight with the city over its future in KeyArena.
