Uncork wine shipping limit

On interstate wine shipments (“Limit on interstate sales sobers retailers,” Jan. 7):
This issue became personal to me when my brother, a former Californian now living in Montana, attempted to have shipped a small amount of wine from a Napa Valley winery and found he was stymied.
A state with as superb a wine industry as ours should not be restricted by parochial schemes set up in the days of Prohibition.
Sure, Montana is a small market, but it seems that our state attorney general’s office should break loose this and other clogs on interstate commerce to benefit both California’s wine producers and those consumers outside California who desire freedom of choice in the wine they drink.
