Man shoots wife, daughter; kills self

A man fatally shot himself Thursday morning after critically injuring his wife and daughter, as a 17-year-old exchange student hid in a locked bedroom, authorities said.
Sheriff’s deputies and paramedics responded to a report of shots fired in the 2400 block of Joel Drive about 7:20 a.m. and found the 54-year-old man dead and his wife and 26-year-old daughter with gunshot wounds, according to Los Angeles County Fire Capt. Mike Brown.
The mother and daughter were taken to USC Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, Brown said.
The daughter was listed in stable condition, the mother in critical, authorities said.
