UC Irvine 64, Norfolk State 51: Kevin Bland contributed 13 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Anteaters in the Basketball Travelers Tip-Off Tourney at Springfield, Mo. Irvine (2-9) broke a 41-41 tie with a 12-0 run against Norfolk State (1-9).

at San Diego State 72, Cal State Northridge 56: Kyle Spain’s 22 points carried the Aztecs (9-3), who led the Matadors (3-7) by 12 points at halftime and then padded that a 12-3 second-half run to pull away. Deon Tresvant led Northridge with 18 points.

at Cal State Fullerton 88, Montana State 80: Josh Akognon scored 25 of his game-high 29 points in the second half to lead the Titans (6-6), who also got 23 points from Jacques Streeter. The victory avenged Fullerton’s 74-60 loss at Montana State on Dec. 9. Erik Rush led the Bobcats (5-5) with 20 points.

Mercer 75, at Loyola Marymount 52: The visiting Bears (7-5), who led 34-22 at halftime, ended up with 28 points in the paint and 21 points off turnovers as they won easily at Gersten Pavilion. LaRon Armstead had 20 points for the Lions (0-13).

at Long Beach State 76, Temple 71: The 49ers (5-6) broke a four-game losing streak with the victory at the Pyramid. Long Beach State had a big edge at the line, making 25 of 32 free throws while Temple (5-5) made 10 of 14. Donovan Morris led the 49ers with 23 points and nine rebounds, and T.J. Robinson added 18 points.
