Suspected U.S. strike kills 7
Intelligence officials and a witness said a suspected U.S. missile strike killed at least seven people today in volatile northwest Pakistan.
Yar Mohammed, a villager, said that a fort-like house was destroyed and that local Taliban members pulled out seven bodies while cordoning off the scene. He said he heard a drone aircraft before the attack. The intelligence officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to talk to the media, confirmed the strike.
The U.S. has carried out a series of missile strikes in Pakistan’s lawless tribal areas, targeting militants blamed for attacks in Afghanistan.
