Ducks’ Selanne out 4-6 weeks because of cut
The Ducks’ problems got a little worse Saturday, as forward Teemu Selanne will be out four to six weeks because of a cut to his left quadriceps.
Selanne, who leads the Ducks with 14 goals, suffered the cut during a 3-2 shootout loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Friday.
He fell into the boards awkwardly after being hit by the Oilers’ Denis Grebeshkov and was taken to a hospital, where he received eight stitches.
Selanne returned to Southern California to undergo an MRI, which showed no damage to his tendons.
Losing Selanne was another blow to the Ducks, who earlier lost defenseman Francois Beauchemin to a season-ending knee injury.
