Suspect ID’d in Koreatown death

Police on Sunday released the name of a suspect in the stabbing death of a 67-year-old man in his Koreatown apartment early last week.
Shawn Towne, 34, of Los Angeles was arrested Saturday after officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire Division found the victim inside his apartment in the 800 block of South Serrano Avenue, said Officer Julianne Sohn.
The relationship between the two men was unknown, Sohn said.
The motive for the stabbing also had not been determined, she said. Coroner’s officials would not release the victim’s name because his family has not been notified of his death.
