New members for Coliseum group
Two new members have joined the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission, officials announced Wednesday.
One is Mark Ridley-Thomas, who was just sworn in as the new 2nd District representative on the Los Angeles County Board of Superivors.
Ridley-Thomas, who also served on the commission when he was a Los Angeles city councilman, replaces retired county Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke.
The other is prominent real estate developer Rick Caruso, whose firm built the Grove shopping and entertainment mall in the Fairfax district of Los Angeles and Americana at Brand in Glendale. Caruso recently considered running for mayor but decided not to challenge Antonio Villaraigosa, who is seeking reelection this spring.
