Preview performances for the world premiere of “9 to 5, the Musical” at the Ahmanson Theatre, previously scheduled to begin Sept. 3, have been delayed to Sept. 6 in order to “meet the technical demands” of presenting the lavish new musical, Center Theatre Group said Wednesday. The show’s official opening night is Sept. 20.
“Oh, what’s two to three more days on a project that we’ve worked two to three years on?” Dolly Parton, who wrote the music and lyrics for the musical, said in a statement.
Ticket-holders for the Sept. 3, 4 and 5 shows will be moved to other performances and will be contacted by Center Theatre Group to reschedule.
