* at Milwaukee 9, Houston 3: CC Sabathia struck out nine and gave up 11 hits in a complete-game effort to improve to 8-0 with a 1.60 earned-run average and five complete games in nine starts for the Brewers since they acquired him from Cleveland in a July 7 trade.
* San Francisco 5, at Atlanta 0: Barry Zito (7-15) gave up five hits in seven innings and won for only the third time since the All-Star break.
