Man, 67, drowns at health club

A 67-year-old man was declared dead early Monday after he was found at the bottom of a health club swimming pool in Huntington Beach.
Paramedics and police were called to the South Coast Athletic Club at 15132 Bolsa Chica Road at 8:36 a.m. to try to revive the man after patrons of the health club discovered him, said Huntington Beach Police Lt. Mitchell O’Brien. He was taken to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
He appeared to have died from accidental drowning, O’Brien said. The man’s identity has not been released.
