ABC’s “Nightline” has beaten CBS’ “Late Night With David Letterman” in the ratings for three weeks running, figures from Nielsen Media Research showed Thursday.
The late-night news program averaged 3 million viewers last week, the ratings firm said, compared with nearly 2.9 million for Letterman. “Nightline” also performed slightly better with viewers in the 25-to-54 age group.
Both shows continued to trail NBC’s “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” which averaged nearly 4.5 million viewers.
