We failed our kids
Re “State lags in students’ writing skills,†April 4
Despite progress, California schools remain mired near the bottom of the latest national assessment of students’ writing ability. California also ranks at the bottom of public education funding nationally, so its students are exactly where they belong. Congratulations to our educators and our educational governor, who plans to cut public education funding even more. Hey, someone has to be on the bottom -- might as well be our children. Californians are getting exactly what they paid for.
