* at Fresno State 24, Sacramento State 7: Tom Brandstater passed for 199 yards and the Bulldogs’ defense limited the Hornets to 102 total yards. Brandstater completed 16 of 27 passes, including a 27-yard touchdown throw to tight end Bear Pascoe. Lonyae Miller and Clifton Smith had touchdown runs for Fresno, which got 77 of its 266 yards rushing from freshman Ryan Matthews.

* at Air Force 34, South Carolina State 3: Shaun Carney passed for 176 yards and a touchdown and Kip McCarthy ran for 129 yards to lead the Falcons at Air Force Academy, Colo.

* at Louisiana Tech 28, Central Arkansas 7: Patrick Jackson had 21 carries for 120 yards and a touchdown to lead the Bulldogs at Ruston.

* at Texas State 38, Cal Poly SLO 35: Stan Zwinggi rushed for 165 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Bobcats at San Marcos. Receiver Ramses Barden finished with eight catches for 207 yards for the Mustangs.

* San Diego 42, at Azusa Pacific 32: Andrew Rolin completed 12 of 16 passes for 177 yards and four touchdowns as the Toreros built a 42-10 lead before giving up three scores in the last five minutes. Azusa Pacific quarterback Rudy Carlton completed 23 of 42 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns, including two to Todd Wilson.
