ARIZONA
Bright Angel Lodge, Grand Canyon
National Park
What’s new: The lodge, which includes 50 cabins and 39 rooms and was designed in 1935 by architect Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter, recently reopened after a $2-million renovation that included new furniture and beds and redone bathrooms. Room rates from $58 to $239 for a suite.

CALIFORNIA
The Westin
San Francisco
Market Street
What’s new: A new Westin has arrived as a $30-million redo of what was the Argent Hotel. The 676 rooms and suites have contemporary decor and flat-screen TVs. Ducca, a new restaurant and bar, is set to open June 17. Rooms $209 to $589 per night; suites $399 to $789 per night.

NEVADA
The Signature
at MGM Grand
What’s new: The third Signature tower is set to open in July with 576 junior, one- and two- bedroom suites. It will have a private entry, balconies in most suites and a private pool with cabanas. Room prices from $200 to $510 a night.

BRITAIN
The Savoy
What’s new: The historic hotel will close Dec. 15 and undergo a $200-million renovation that upgrades rooms, river suites, common areas and the River Restaurant. The hotel is expected to reopen in spring 2009.
