Danes will play Eliza Doolittle

Henry Higgins now has his Eliza Doolittle.
Claire Danes will portray the Cockney flower girl who blossoms into a lady in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s upcoming Broadway revival of George Bernard Shaw’s “Pygmalion.” It will be her Broadway debut.
The production, which also stars Jefferson Mays as Higgins, opens Oct. 18 at the American Airlines Theatre.
Preview performances begin Sept. 21. The director is David Grindley.
