Delgadillo’s example

Re “The honorable thing,” editorial, July 3
Attorneys have long gotten a bad rap, and Los Angeles City Atty. Rocky Delgadillo should have set an example for all attorneys. What he has set is an example of what you shouldn’t do or ignore. “Sorry” just doesn’t do it for me. This man so far has tried to get away with so many things with his wife, Michelle. They just pay fines and go along their merry way.
I won’t hold my breath waiting for him to resign. I just hope that people will not forget what he has tried to get away with and will put an end to his political career, with all the perks, in two years.

As a native son of Los Angeles and an Orange County resident for more than 30 years, I have seen my share of public officials who lose the public’s trust. Delgadillo has crossed the line. When the person who should prosecute lawbreakers becomes the lawbreaker, it is time to go. He should look in the political dictionary under “Quackenbush.” I support The Times’ call for his resignation.
