President’s son dies in France

The son of Chad’s president was found dead in the basement of his apartment building in a Paris suburb, and authorities were treating the case as a murder investigation, French judicial officials said.
A preliminary autopsy indicated that Brahim Deby, 27, son of President Idriss Deby, died of asphyxiation from chemicals released by a fire extinguisher near his body.
Conflict in the Darfur region of Sudan has spilled over the border into eastern Chad, where rebels also have challenged the Chadian president.
