3 die in Antelope Valley crash

A pickup truck trying to pass slower traffic on California 138 near Littlerock in the Antelope Valley slammed head on into two cars, killing a man, woman and 3-year-old child, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred about 6:45 p.m. Saturday near Fort Tejon Road, when the eastbound Dodge Ram, driven by Marthel Aguilar Jr., 21, of Arvin, struck a westbound 2006 Saturn and then a 1992 Toyota.
Authorities said the driver of the Saturn, Willida Lavonne Hughes, 52, of Lancaster, died at the scene.
Her 33-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Toyota, Alex Vicente Villabisencio, 28, and his passenger, Hailey Aaliyah Hinsley, 3, both of Corona, also died at the scene.
Aguilar and two of his passengers suffered minor to moderate injuries and were taken to Desert Valley Hospital for treatment.
No arrests were made, pending an investigation.
