The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday unanimously approved the creation of a gang-injunction unit at the district attorney’s office.
The approval budgets $535,983 for the year for two deputy district attorneys who will handle investigations required to secure injunctions, said Dist. Atty. Michael A. Ramos, and allow his office to file injunctions in unincorporated county areas and cities.
The injunctions, already used in the cities of San Bernardino and Victorville, make it illegal for gang members to congregate in known gang areas.
