USC women set a sellout first

The USC-UCLA women’s basketball game at the Galen Center on Saturday is sold out, the first advance sellout in USC women’s basketball history.
USC, in making the announcement, said that nearly 5,400 tickets were sold through the school’s “A Day in Troy” promotion, which is aimed at neighborhood kids and their families and includes campus tours and other activities.
“It’s so exciting to have a women’s basketball game sold out,” USC Coach Mark Trakh said. “The atmosphere is going to be outstanding.”
USC, 14-9 overall, is fourth in the Pacific 10 Conference with an 8-5 record, a game ahead of UCLA (13-12, 7-6), which is tied for fifth with Washington. USC defeated UCLA, 75-72, last month at Pauley Pavilion.
Last season, USC and UCLA drew 8,667 to the Sports Arena.
