Don’t bet the house (or the Falcons)

Patriots over Giants
* Why did Congress choose to turn up the heat on this game and not the NFL Network-only telecast of Green Bay at Dallas in November? East Coast bias.
Seahawks over Falcons
* Seattle says, “The Mariners fell apart down the stretch, Shaun Alexander has 685 yards and the Sonics might move. What a lousy year.” Atlanta says, “Michael Vick. Bobby Petrino. Barry Bonds passes Hank Aaron. Don’t get us started.”
Steelers over Ravens
* Steelers fans have spent Christmas week trying to come to terms with these 10 words: “We are going as far as Najeh Davenport takes us.”
Browns over 49ers
* Usually when your quarterback has four interceptions against a 6-9 opponent and you waste a late-December chance to clinch the playoffs, that’s it. You’re done. The Browns, however, can still clinch if Tennessee loses to Indianapolis.
Packers over Lions
* The Lions’ seven victories are the most they’ve had in seven seasons under team President Matt Millen. Is that a reason to keep Millen, or fire him?
Jaguars over Texans
* With a victory, the No Pro Bowl Jaguars will become the NFL’s most nondescript 12-4 team since the 2005 Jacksonville Jaguars.
Colts over Titans
* Win and the Titans are in. One problem with that: The Titans are 1-8 in their last nine games against the Colts.
Dolphins over Bengals
* If Bill Parcells is setting up operations in Miami, can Drew Bledsoe be far behind?
Eagles over Bills
* If these were college teams, they’d call this game the Papajohns.com Bowl.
Saints over Bears
* And this would be the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl.
Buccaneers over Panthers
* The last NFC team to win the Super Bowl defeats the team that began the NFC’s current 0-4 Super Bowl streak.
Redskins over Cowboys
* Seeking bullpen help, confused Nationals contact Redskins about a possible trade for Todd Collins.
Cardinals over Rams
* A loss on Sunday would leave the Rams 3-13, which would be their worst record since Anaheim had them in 1991. St. Louis, we warned you.
Broncos over Vikings
* “Tarvaris Jackson” and “Playoff Quarterback.” Sorry. The NFL just isn’t ready.
Chargers over Raiders
* The Raiders are winless in their last eight games against the Chargers. Half of those losses happened while the Raiders were coached by Norv Turner.
Jets over Chiefs
* Given the chance to make the same choice again -- to coach the Jets, or to coach the Chiefs? -- Herm Edwards would hold out for Option C.
