15 Guantanamo inmates sent home
From Times Wire Reports
The U.S. announced that it has sent 15 Guantanamo prisoners back to their homelands.
The military transferred 13 men to Afghanistan and two to Sudan, the Pentagon said in a statement. Their names were not released.
The U.S. has now sent about 485 prisoners to their native countries, where most have been subsequently released. About 290 men remain at the U.S. detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
