Re “Glass wall has birders seeing red,” Nov. 27
Developers want to sell people a slice of the wild but put up a giant glass wall to keep out skunks and snakes. Wild birds then kill themselves by flying into the wall.
Leave it to the rich to be willing to pay for a sanitized version of nature but insist on not dealing with the little inconveniences that come with it. Perhaps a private security “border patrol” company could be hired to apprehend errant critters that slither past their precious border.

Is there no conscience in the people behind Hearthside Homes, including Senior Vice President Ed Mountford? They build a glass wall so future homeowners can see the Bolsa Chica wetlands unobstructed, yet the wall kills what is supposed to be on view. Now knowing this, they have “no plans” to remove it?
What next, Mr. Mountford? The addition of chemicals to the water so the surviving fish will shine for future homeowners?
