The UCLA Department of Surgery has received a $30-million donation from a Los Angeles investment firm founder who received a liver transplant there.
The donation from Robert Day and his wife, Kelly, “will enhance UCLA’s contribution to the health and well-being of our society for decades to come,” school officials said Friday.
Day, founder and chairman of the TCW Group Inc., this year was ranked 297th on the Forbes magazine list of the 400 richest Americans. The magazine estimated his fortune at $1.6 billion.
