Bailing out sub-prime borrowers
Consumer groups have a lot of nerve calling for a bailout of homeowners (“Aid for homeowners urged,†Aug. 22). Since when did it become the government’s job to protect people from stupid decisions?
My wife and I held off from buying a home because we couldn’t afford it. So why should all these other people get bailed out after buying a home that they couldn’t afford either? The bubble needs to pop, and home prices need to come down to a point where working people can afford them.
