Suspected drug kingpin arrested in federal sting

A suspected drug kingpin has been arrested as part of a sweeping sting by federal drug agents and Placentia police, authorities said Thursday.
Pablo Perfecto, 36, of Yorba Linda was ordered held on $5-million bail Wednesday after investigators searched 11 homes in Fullerton, Orange, Placentia and Yorba Linda. They confiscated more than 7 1/2 pounds of cocaine and 2 pounds of methamphetamine.
Perfecto was among more than a dozen suspects arrested in an alleged drug distribution conspiracy. The reputed leader of Plas, a street gang operating in predominantly Latino neighborhoods, he is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 11.
