A state judge in Michigan has sided with Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and dismissed a lawsuit by former marketing executive Julie Roehm over her firing, saying the case should be filed in Arkansas.
Judge Denise Langford Morris said almost all aspects of the case took place in Arkansas and that Roehm’s contract with Wal-Mart stipulated that any disputes should be litigated there.
Roehm was fired in December from the Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer. Court filings have revealed that she was fired for accusations of ethics breaches.
