War also takes its toll in noncombat-related deaths

Although U.S. military casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan command national attention, two accidents last month underscore the less-publicized toll of the war on terror: noncombat-related fatalities.
In Iraq and Afghanistan, there have been 769 such deaths, according to the Department of Defense.
Outside of those two countries, at least 60 such deaths have occurred.
