A suspect in the slayings of five teenagers and another suspect in the killing of a popular musician were indicted in New Orleans, reviving cases that were dropped amid much uproar in the city, prosecutors said.
Dist. Atty. Eddie Jordan’s office announced the murder indictment of 20-year-old Michael Anderson in the teens’ slayings and the second-degree murder indictment of 18-year-old David Bonds in the other killing. Anderson was in jail, and police were searching for Bonds.
Both men were arrested months ago and charged with murder, but Jordan’s office dismissed charges against Bonds in June and Anderson in July, citing witnesses who would not cooperate or could not be found.
