Boy, 3, killed when father runs over him with SUV

A man accidentally backed his sport utility vehicle over his 3-year-old son late Monday afternoon, killing the boy, authorities said.
The incident occurred just after 5 p.m. at the family’s duplex in the 11500 block of Laurel Avenue. The man, whose name was not released, was backing up in the driveway, said California Highway Patrol spokesman Patrick Kimball.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Mark Harman said the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
