Privacy inquiry targets Harbor/UCLA worker
- Share via
A Harbor/UCLA Medical Center employee arrested on suspicion of illegally using the credit card of a patient is now being investigated for allegedly removing two privacy-protected registration forms from the hospital and taking them home.
The forms were discovered by the California Highway Patrol, which was conducting a search of the employee’s home after his arrest Saturday for the alleged credit card fraud, authorities said. One of the women listed on the forms said the employee had contacted her and asked for a date.
The employee has been suspended indefinitely without pay pending the completion of an administrative investigation. The hospital also deactivated the employee’s access to the electronic patient information system.
