UCLA’s Williams is sidelined

UCLA tailback Derrick Williams will sit out the rest of spring practice because of a concussion suffered Saturday in practice.
This is the third concussion Williams has suffered since the 2005 season, and his status for the fall is unknown.
“He has had multiple ones so we are going to be very careful with this,” Coach Karl Dorrell said. “We’re not looking ahead. We just want to take care of this one and then see where he is when fall camp starts.”
Williams, who began spring drills as the No. 2 tailback on the depth chart, is the second tailback the Bruins have lost in a week. Starter Chris Markey, their leading rusher, suffered a stress fracture Thursday.
Williams, who will be a senior, gained 96 yards last season.
