Too bad Bruce Wallace [Sept. 2] can’t learn the lessons of the U.S. men’s basketball team and not be the ugly American reporter who tells us all about our boys but nothing about the game or the Greek team. Talk about the game and give some press to those who’ve earned it. The world doesn’t revolve around us, as our basketball players have learned.

I just don’t get it: Our country is shocked when the U.S. men’s basketball team loses to Greece ... I’m sorry, did I write Greece? Excuse me a second, I just laughed myself off of my chair.

In any case, why is anyone surprised? Have you been watching the NBA the last 10 years? No one can shoot, pass or defend.

Isn’t it about time we go back to an all-college team? But if the college kids were to win, there wouldn’t be enough lipstick to put on that pig known as the NBA.
