Krantz joins music board

Judith Krantz, best known for such sexually explicit novels as “Scruples,†“Princess Daisy†and “Mistral’s Daughter,†is one of seven new members of Los Angeles Music Center’s Board of Directors.

Krantz is also the president of Blue Ribbon, a Music Center support organization that counts among its members Danielle Steel, another novelist best known for her steamy romances.

Joining Krantz on the list of recent board appointments are Joan Boyett, founder of the Music Center’s education program; Anthony J. Buzzelli, vice chairman and national managing partner of U.S. regions as well as regional managing partner for the Pacific Southwest region of Deloitte; former Los Angeles City Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski; Karen Kay Platt, a Music Center founder and consultant of Kay Investments, Kay Charitable Foundation and a former member of the law firm Katz, Hoyt and Bell; Thomas L. Safran, president of Thomas Safran & Associates, developers of affordable senior and family housing; and Walter F. Ulloa, chairman and chief executive of Entravision Communications Corp., a Spanish-language media company.
