Bomb Threat Delays Amtrak Train 3 Hours
From a Times Staff Writer
About 200 passengers were evacuated from an Amtrak train for more than three hours Monday after an anonymous caller warned officials of a bomb stashed on board.
An extensive search uncovered no explosive devices, officials said.
The call came shortly after 7 p.m. as the northbound train approached the Fullerton station, a spokesman for the Fullerton Police Department said.
After the passengers were evacuated, he said, the train was moved to a remote area west of the depot where it was searched until nearly 10:30 p.m.
