Sharks prevail on fluke goal
Steve Bernier’s fluke goal helped the San Jose Sharks beat the Minnesota Wild, 2-1, Wednesday night at St. Paul, Minn., for their fourth straight victory.
Bernier missed a pass by Christian Ehrhoff only to have the puck bounce off his right skate and into the Minnesota net in the second period.
Minnesota, which lost at home for only the third time this season, had a season-low 16 shots on goal and lost for the third time in its last four outings.
Chicago 2, Dallas 1 -- Tuomu Ruutu scored with 1:48 left to give the host Blackhawks the victory in Denis Savard’s first game as head coach.
Nashville 3, Philadelphia 2 -- Martin Erat scored with 5:09 left to help the visiting Predators win their third straight game.
