Israeli jets stage a show of force

Israeli fighter jets roared over Hezbollah strongholds, staging mock raids in the strongest show of force since Israel’s war with the guerrilla group in Lebanon ended more than two months ago.
Hours later, Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah said that the group had reinforced its arsenal and that “serious negotiations” were underway over the fate of two Israeli soldiers whose July 12 capture by Hezbollah sparked the monthlong fighting.
