Road Rage Is Suspected in Fatal Shooting
A woman was killed and a man was injured Sunday night in what Los Angeles Police Department officials described as a road-rage shooting in South Los Angeles.
A man driving an SUV fired several shots about 6:55 p.m. at a blue Saturn in the 4200 block of South Normandie Avenue, said Officer Mike Lopez, an LAPD spokesman.
A female passenger was struck by at least one bullet and died at the scene. The male driver was shot in the elbow and was hospitalized, Lopez said.
Police do not believe the killing was gang-related and were continuing their investigation Sunday night, Lopez said.
